Building Bridges Between Native Wellness & Western Psychology
Caminos para Bienestar
Our Mission
Building bridges between native wellness and western psychology
Building lateral systems of healing — where knowledge, support, and care flow between community members as equals, creating networks of wellness that are sustained by collective strength rather than top-down structures.
Making room for ancestral healing and receiving blessings from our ancestors' medicinal practices — embracing nature, ritual, and expanded spiritual contexts.
Ethically integrating traditional medicine and healing practices into the practice of psychotherapy, honoring both lineages.
Training and supporting psychotherapists in connecting with their inherited legacy of healing practices to enrich accessibility for BIPOC therapy participants.
It is only by my hand, by my face,
my heart, my spirit
that either I will wither, or I will bloom,
I will become as green land, as tilled earth
I will germinate, I will sprout.
— Aztec Huehuetlatolli
What We Do
Cambiando el Rostro de la Psicoterapia
Ethically integrating traditional medicine and healing practices into psychotherapy — building a framework where indigenous knowledge and clinical practice strengthen each other.
Helping therapists reconnect with their own inherited healing legacy — finding congruence between who we are, where we come from, and how we practice, so we can serve BIPOC communities with deeper authenticity.
Teaching therapists to help therapy participants use strengths related to religion, spirituality, and ritual in an expanded context and using nature as allies for clients who don't identify with classic religious systems.
Equipping psychotherapists with the knowledge, tools, and cultural grounding to bring ancestral healing practices into their clinical work — through workshops, mentorship, and community-based learning that honors the wisdom they carry.
Inclusivity
Because true healing includes all of us — our communities, our ancestors, and the living land beneath our feet
Creating spaces where Black, Indigenous, and People of Color lead the conversation — where healing frameworks grow from lived experience, cultural memory, and community wisdom rather than being adapted from dominant paradigms.
Recognizing the natural world as a source of deep healing — the soil, water, plants, and seasons as teachers and medicine. Wellness is not separate from the earth; it grows from our relationship with it.
Honoring the ancient kinship between humans and animals — where animal presence, symbolism, and relationship become pathways to healing, grounding, and remembering our place within the web of life.
All of us have ancestors and all of us can connect with our love legacies. Healing grows strongest when it is shared across all backgrounds, traditions, and lived experiences.
The answer may be closer than you think: Woven into your ancestry, your body, the soil beneath your feet. We are building something together. Join us as we amplify native voices, train healers, and weave old wisdom into strong communities.
